Join the Board at Ace Makerspace - Shape the Future of Our Creative Community!
Oakland, CA | Remote/ Hybrid
Ace Makerspace is a nonprofit community makerspace where diverse makers collaborate, learn, and build across disciplines, such as woodworking, textiles, electronics, metal working, laser, and digital fabrication with our 3D printers and CNC router. We’re looking for engaged, visionary individuals to join our Board of Directors and help guide our mission as we grow and evolve
We’re seeking board members who are:
- Passionate about maker culture and community empowerment
- Experienced in governance, nonprofit operations, education, finance, or fundraising
- Committed to equity, inclusion, and access in creative spaces
- Collaborative, organized, and ready to support both strategic direction and hands-on initiatives
Board responsibilities include:
- Attending monthly board meetings (remote or hybrid)
- Contributing to strategic planning and oversight
- Supporting key initiatives in education, outreach, equity, and sustainability
- Championing our volunteer-led, member-driven culture
2025 Election Timeline:
- Monday, May 12: Nominations Open
- Friday, May 30: Nominations Close
- May 31 - June 2: Review Period by Nominating Committee
- Monday, June 2: Candidate Preview Released to Voting Members
- Thursday, June 5: Virtual Meet & Greet for Board Candidates & Voting Members
- Thursday, June 5 - Friday, June 20: Campaigning and Voting Period
- Friday, June 20 (7:30 PM PST): Voting Closes

Description
Ace Monster Toys dba Ace Makerspace is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit member supported organization founded in 2010. We support traditional makers and craftspeople as well as hackers both digital and material. Our community brings together people of diverse skill levels by providing resources and culture to build networks; co-work; and engage in projects that benefit individuals and the community at large. The resources we develop include spaces and a wide variety of tools and supplies to support making and learning.
