Are you passionate about diversity and cultural integration? Do you enjoy planning and organizing events? If so, Sankofa African Network Impact Awards (SANIA) planning team may be just the fit for you.

Virginia- based nonprofit, provides social intergations services, legal, youth turoring, counselling and broadcast servies to the immigrant communities in the DMW area. We will host our upcoming gala for 350 + supportters on Saturday, September 20th, 2025 at Waterford Event Center in Springfield, Virginia.

Each year, we host SANIA Awards to recognize the outstanding contributions of individuals and groups within the African community. Some examples of duties as a volunteer include:

Attending virtual planning meetings

Reaching out to local business to help secure financial support

Assisting with pre-event ( decorations, set up and cordination)

Managing guest resgitration process (check in/checkout)

Volunteers are a core part of the event planning process and are needed for on-the ground support the night of the event, roughly from 4pm to 12am. We will provide training and additional information prior to the event.

Time commitment: 3 - 4 hours training/ meetings monthly, 4 hours of outreach monthly, 6-8 hours of in-person event support on September 20.
