ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

The Historic Inn and Stand at Mount Locust located at mile marker 15.5 on the Natchez Trace Parkway has new and exciting volunteer opportunities for both the local community and for full time RVers! We seek individuals and couples who can staff our busy visitor center and assist in the day to day running of one of the oldest structures in the state of Mississippi, your duties will include:


  • Greeting a wide variety of visitors from all over the world and orienting them to the 444 miles of the Natchez Trace Parkway, the 7 th most visited unit of the National Park Service
  • Answering their questions about Mount Locust and the local area
  • Opening and closing the site including the onsite bookstore
  • Roving the area in a government provided vehicle to meet visitors at several of the various historic and natural wonders that dot the Natchez Trace

RV pad with full hookups is available for volunteers who are willing to put in a minimum amount of hours per week.
