About the program:

Our Extended Foster Care Program (EFC) supports young adults who are 18 to 21 years old as they transition from foster care into independent adulthood. We focus on housing stability, education, employement, life skills, and ongoing emotional support.

  • Interns first complete an on-boarding process that includes completing trainings, webinars, shadowing, and clinical supervision.
  • With adequate training and supervision, interns will be assigned site tasks and activities with varying roles and responsibilities.
  • Tasks can include screening, intake, and assessment; individualized case planning and intervention, case management functions, life skills teaching, medical referrals and support, court advocacy, electronic health record maintenance, community referrals, and other duties as assigned.
