What You'll Do:

As a Bilingual Caring Companion, you'll assist in communicating key information for individuals in need of healthcare services. Your role will include:

  • Translating during clinic visits to ensure patients understand medical information and instructions.
  • Assisting with written translation for forms, resources, and educational materials.
  • Helping to bridge cultural gaps and ensure that every individual feels heard and understood.

Mission Statement

Nurses Serving Our Neighbors (NSON) is a non-profit, faith-based ministry of licensed volunteer nurses and others who advocate, navigate, and educate while accompanying our neighbors in need within the Charlotte community.

Description

NSON exists to ensure no one journeys alone. At NSON, we provide heartfelt companionship alongside healthcare advocacy, navigation, and education to individuals in the Charlotte area.

We uphold each neighbor’s dignity by:

  • Advocating for them with medical and service providers
  • Navigating healthcare and community resources
  • Educating them on health conditions and holistic health to support informed decision-making
  • Accompanying them to provide physical and spiritual support because we believe that no one should journey alone
