We are seeking professional and experienced volunteers to help us write a grant application focused on preventing psychotropic substance and drug addiction, as well as providing rehabilitation support for those already affected. Our target age group is 12-26 years, including university students.
The project aims to educate these groups about psychotropic substance and drug addiction and its impacts on life. Our main objectives are disease awareness and health promotion. We plan to reach 100,000 students and 50,000 parents, especially mothers, through this initiative.
The project has two primary target groups: Students (12-26 years): Educate and sensitize through awareness creation, workshops, and seminars. Mothers: Capacitate to: (1) Educate and sensitize their children to prevent drug addiction and (2) Provide proper rehabilitation support if their children are already affected by psychotropic substances or drugs.
On successful completion, the volunteers will get certificate of appreciation and a reference letter, if it is required.

Description
NewBeginnings is a recipient of GuideStar-India's 'Gold Seal' award. We are a registered and tax exempted Indian non-profit working at the grassroots level. Working among the neglected and ignored indigenous and dalit communities in Kurnool district - one of the chronic drought hit districts, in Andhra Pradesh, stands second highest in human trafficking and registered high ratio school dropouts.
CHALLENGES: Chronic poverty, child labourers, human trafficking.
OBJECTIVES:
We aspire to eradicate poverty and hunger principally in rural areas, which account for 68% of the total population of India. Poverty is the source of many social evils such as child labor, human trafficking, illiteracy, human rights violations and famine. NCT concentrates on the socio-economic Empowerment of women and adolescents, Health and Education to Children as a proven way to promote gender equality and to eradicate poverty.
PROGRAMS:
Vocational Skills Training and Functional Literacy to illiterate women and adolescents youth. Women and youth are trained in everyday Maths, understand the bus route sign boards, newspapers. Since the target women are daily wage labourers, it is imperative that they are able to count their own wages.
Illiterate /school dropped outs/ child labours are given crash literacy courses and then we mainstream them with nearby government schools. NewBeginnings creates Rights awareness on Gender Equality, Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights and Menstrual Hygiene and Personal Health Care
