Position Summary:
The Facilities Support Volunteer plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for the youth who visit Rare Breed. This behind-the-scenes support helps ensure our space reflects the dignity and respect we want every young person to feel when they walk through our doors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with general cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, wiping down surfaces, and taking out trash

  • Help organize common areas and ensure supplies (e.g., paper towels, soap) are stocked

  • Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to staff

  • Support special cleaning projects as needed (e.g., seasonal deep clean, organizing storage areas)

  • Treat all staff, volunteers, and participants with respect and maintain confidentiality

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 25 years old

  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions

  • Comfortable with light physical activity

  • A positive attitude and willingness to help behind the scenes

Time Commitment:

  • Flexible shifts available; we ask for a minimum of 2 hours per visit

  • Monday - Friday 9AM - 5PM

Description

The Kitchen, Inc. brings stability and purpose to people who are homeless through housing and case management services. The Kitchen, Inc. has five programs aimed at ending homelessness:

  • Affordable housing developments provide 222 affordable housing units in the community
  • Emergency Shelter provides a safe place for folks to shelter before they can return to permanent housing
  • Community Housing helps families, individuals, youth, and seniors return to permanent housing and find long-term stability
  • Home At Last serves Veterans and their families who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless
  • Rare Breed Youth Services provides a variety of outreach and case management services to youth ages 13-24 years old.
