We are seeking a creative and motivated Marketing & Communications Intern to join our marketing team. This internship offers hands-on experience in marketing strategies, content creation, social media management, analytics, research and development, and communications. The ideal candidate will have a passion for marketing, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing a communications plan for the entire organization
- Assist Social Media/Web Manager by writing and editing content for the web and social media
- Maintain and organize our electronic library of wish photo files
- Assist in the design and creation of collateral pieces
- Assist donor care coordinator with stewardship materials and projects as needed
- Operate within the brand guidelines established by the National Office and local chapter
- Develop email campaigns to promote internal and external events, as needed
- Write, distribute, and pitch news releases as needed
- Document wish experiences and fundraising events via photography, video, and social posts
- Assist with promotional events or general office duties as needed
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop or InDesign, and email marketing tools preferred
- Must be an independent worker and a quick learner
- Assist in developing and implementing digital marketing campaigns.
- Manage and create content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.).
- Monitor social media trends and engage with online communities.
- Conduct keyword research and assist in search engine optimization (SEO) strategies with Google Ads, and Salesforce.
- Analyze website traffic and social media performance using analytics tools.
- Assist in email marketing campaigns, including drafting and scheduling emails.
- Support the design and creation of marketing materials such as graphics and videos.
- Provide administrative support to the marketing team as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must have excellent written communication, social media, PowerPoint, and photo/video editing skills
- Journalism/Graphic Design/Media/Broadcast/Film Majors are preferred or experience in video production
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
- Basic understanding of SEO and content marketing.
- Familiarity with graphic design software (Canva, Adobe Suite) is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

We aim to equip them with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage and grow their finances in today's dynamic landscape. Leveraging the influence of Hip Hop culture, we harness its positive elements to educate our youth about the significance of money and its workings in the modern world.
Description
In the past 2 years, we devoted time to develop a program that is being used to teach the urban underprivileged youth about financial literacy and entrepreneurship which includes historical aspects of money, banking, and credit. In addition, the program helps with learning about marketing, branding, business development, and growth. In our program we use a blend of Kinesthetic, Auditory, Visual, and Physical learning methods, we captivate our audience and facilitate meaningful connections. After testing out the program on several groups of youth we found that the information retained by the youth that participated was about 70%. Giving them a better outlook on life and their futures.
This year, our initiatives include summer camps tailored to urban youth, where we have revamped our teaching approach to ensure engagement and prevent boredom. Furthermore, we prioritize the involvement of urban minority professionals who serve as relatable role models, inspiring the next generation toward success.
