Ignite This Ish is a grassroots nonprofit focused on bridging the gap between underrepresented communities and the tech world through creative education, digital tools, and accessible design. We’re in an exciting stage of growth and are looking for passionate volunteers to help us build something transformative.
Whether you’re a designer, researcher, strategist, organizer, or just someone who believes in tech equity, we welcome your energy and perspective. Volunteering with us means contributing to real-world projects like our Design Equity Lab (a 12-week UX program for youth), community-centered research, and knowledge-sharing through visual storytelling and education.
We’re looking for folks who are:

* Interested in using their skills (or learning new ones) to support social impact work

Mission Statement
Ignite This Ish is a 501(c)(3) that aims to utilize empathy and ethical methodologies to create free and accessible digital solutions for marginalized groups in a world that prioritizes monetization first.
Description
We are a group of tech and design professionals across various industries who aim to use our expertise to solve social issues.
Our current project involves tackling swim disparity and closing the swim equity gap through awareness, collaboration with related brands, and sponsoring programs.
One program that we are currently sponsoring is a swim retreat for Women of Color aged 55+ who are non-swimmers.
