Nyamboyo Technical School is looking for individuals able to help us transcribe our teachers' handwritten lesson plans into Word. Our teachers are creating their first formal lesson plans that we can use annually. They do not have access to computers, so handwrite their lesson plans weekly, making notes after classes about their success and student progress. This will save many, many hours in the years ahead, as they formalize their curriculum.
The job is simple - take a lesson plan and type it up on the lesson plan template. It requires attention to detail and a willingness to take on something easy and sometimes tedious that will make a huge future impact.
Who We Are
NTS a not-for-profit 3-year vocational school located in the Nyamboyo Village in southwestern Kenya. We provide professional, technical education to the economically disadvantaged teens and young adults of the community. Our students are ages 14-20 and all have family histories of poverty, lack of education and job opportunities, and chronic food insecurity. At NTS, they receive professional vocational training, 3 meals a day to combat hunger and malnutrition, English-language classes, computer training, and daily sports activities. Our students thrive professionally, physically, and psychologically, building careers that move themselves and their families out of poverty.

Description
NTS a not-for-profit 3-year vocational school located in the Nyamboyo Village in southwestern Kenya. We provide professional, technical education to the economically disadvantaged teens and young adults of the community. Our students are ages 14-20 and all have family histories of poverty, lack of education and job opportunities, and chronic food insecurity. At NTS, they receive professional vocational training, 3 meals a day to combat hunger and malnutrition, English-language classes, computer training, and daily COVID-safe sports activities. They also participate in school-run businesses, learning how to become business owners and making money while in school. Our students thrive professionally, physically, and psychologically.
Ultimately, we are building a positive, prosperous future for our youth, as employees, small business owners, and serial entrepreneurs!
NTS is led by Executive Director, Jones Obiria, a native of Nyamboro, who founded the school because he felt an obligation to lead after he, himself was able to escape poverty through the gift of education. Here in the U.S., a small, dedicated team of two are working to help raise awareness and funds for NTS. In Jones’ words "People save their own lives. Our job is to provide the opportunity. I hope you will join our journey."
