ORGANIZATION: Unity Hospice of Chicagoland, Northwest Indiana, Greater St. Louis and Houston

Unity hospice is in need of volunteers to create intervention tools for our hospice patients! Our crafty volunteers help us take our care to the next level by providing items that are not only useful and functional, but also beautiful and bright - providing cheer with lovely patterns and colors!

Volunteers can help us by creating items like:

  • Dignity Bibs
  • Fidget mats for dementia patients
  • Palm pillows for hand contracture
  • Other pillows of many sizes to help prop patients in bed
  • Rice filled pillows that can be heated or cooled for patient comfort

Some projects we have patterns for, and some of them will be more creative - one of our existing volunteers would be happy to help with ideas and direction to help you get started! This opportunity is excellent for individuals or for sewing or quilting groups/clubs.

Volunteers will need to be able to drop off creations at one of our locations in Skokie, Andersonville (Chicago) or Chinatown (Chicago) during regular business hours.

You can make a difference from home in the life of a patient by sharing a talent you already have - if you're interested, please get in touch today!
