Hearts for Homeless seeks a Program Assistant for its Mental & Emotional Support Advocate (MESA) program. Hearts for Homeless is based in the San Francisco, Bay Area and provides digital access, emotional and social wellbeing, as well as client advocacy services to the sheltered homeless population.
MESA is a Client Advocacy program that empowers those experiencing homelessness and assists them in navigating the often complex process of accessing services and resources. MESAs are volunteer client advocates who work on a one-on-one basis to provide their client with a personalized service while establishing a supportive connection.
The Program Assistant will be responsible for:
Assisting the Program Manager in recruiting and coordinating interviews, training, and check-ins with existing and potential MESA volunteers.
Ensuring MESA monthly reports are submitted.
Assisting the Program Manager in scheduling and providing event planning for MESA volunteer trainings and special events including logistics, transportation, and food arrangements as needed.
Contributing to the production of program reports, materials, and content.
Assisting the program manager in responding and supporting direct inquiries from volunteers and clients as necessary.
