Mission Statement
To identify and advocate for Facilitators who make an impact and meaningful difference in the lives of youth, young adults & emerging leaders through positive messaging and strategic solutions; and, equip youth & young adults with character, confidence, resilience, leadership, and lifelong skills through the hands, hearts, and minds of Authentic, Committed and Transformative YELD Facilitators.
Description
Our organization offers an online facilitator certification in partnership with a national organization. YELD Facilitators include teachers, life coaches, career and workforce development professionals, youth ministry leaders, pastors, and non-profit leadership. Programmatically, facilitators work with a broad spectrum of young people, e.g., middle & high school students; college-bound and in-college, at-risk, school-to-work, formerly incarcerated, immigrants, refugees, and workforce entrants and emerging leaders. We have a character development program called Rising Stars Student Ambassadors, positive youth development, and leadership program; and, we use an evidence-based curriculum.
In 2018, the first annual event, the YELD CARES conference, was held in Spartanburg, SC. A YELD Facilitator and pastor hosted the conference. In 2019 a Youth Social Justice Roundtable was held in Maryland, and in 2020 we had a YELD Virtual Summit. The summit topics were Careers, Workforce Trends, and Future Technologies. Rising Star Student Ambassadors served as presenters. Over 80 students from multiple states and three African counties participated in the daylong event. We produce a monthly YELD Emerging Scholars (YES) Newsletter, and you can find our websites at www.yeldfacilitator.com and www.yeld.online.
