As a Hospice Life Story Videographe or a Legacy Video Project Volunteer for AccentCare Hospice, you will play a meaningful role in preserving the stories, memories, and wisdom of hospice (end of life) patients by creating short, heartfelt video tributes. These videos serve as lasting legacies for families and loved ones, offering a deeply personal and cherished remembrance of their loved one’s life.
Key Responsibilities:
- (Optional - only for in person) Meet with patients (virtually or in person) to gently guide conversations about their life story, values, special memories, and messages they wish to leave behind and record interviews and meaningful footage using basic video/audio equipment (i.e., smart phone).
- Edit and produce short legacy videos or memorial videos that are respectful, warm, and customized to each individual.
- (Optional- only for in person) Collaborate with hospice staff and family members as needed to ensure sensitivity and comfort throughout the process.
- Maintain confidentiality, compassion, and professionalism at all times.
Qualifications:
- Experience or interest in videography, storytelling, or media editing.
- Comfort speaking with individuals receiving end-of-life care.
- Sensitivity, empathy, and strong listening skills.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow hospice protocols.
- Access to basic video editing software.
Time Commitment: Flexible-typically 2-4 hours per project. Frequency depends on patient needs and volunteer availability.
