Help Distribute Hurricane Guides to Mobile Home Parks throughout Pinellas County

ORGANIZATION: Seniors in Service of Tampa Bay, Inc.

Help keep our community safe and informed! We’re looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to help distribute Hurricane Preparedness Guides to mobile home parks throughout Pinellas County.

Volunteers will visit designated communities and drop off hurricane guides. Volunteers will receive training before heading out, so you’ll feel confident and prepared. We ask that volunteers go out in teams of two for safety and support-feel free to sign up with a friend or let us pair you with a partner!

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Drive to assigned mobile home parks in Pinellas County

  • Distribute hurricane guides door-to-door or at designated locations

  • Share survey with site coordinator (training provided)

Requirements:

  • Must have access to a car and valid driver’s license

  • Comfortable walking outdoors and speaking to community members

  • Team-oriented and dependable

Location: Pinellas County (various mobile home parks)
Training Location: Sunshine Center
Time Commitment: Flexible hours; daytime availability preferred

Description

Programs Offered Through Seniors in Service:


Foster Grandparent Program (FGP)

  • The Foster Grandparent Program recruits senior volunteers (55+) to go into schools and after-school programs to mentor at-risk and special needs children and provide them with one-on-one, individualized attention


Senior Companion Program (SCP)

  • The Senior Companion Program recruits senior volunteers (55+) to go into the homes of homebound, elderly clients and provide them with companionship and assistance.


Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)

  • The RSVP Program recruits senior volunteers(55+) to participate more fully in the life of the community through volunteer service. The program matches the considerable wealth of knowledge, skills, and experience of this vital and rapidly growing age group with the addressing of critical needs and unresolved issues in our community.


Operation Veteran Connect

  • Provides companionship to veterans, enabling them to live independently. Supports the VA in supporting providing Whole Health support to veterans.
