The Technical Deputy Director position is an important part of ROCKBlue Consultancy. The position requires an awareness of ROCKBlue’s market, community, and partners, as well as its internal operations and project management. The Technical Deputy Director will be responsible for coordinating, developing, and managing the Consultancy’s internal operations, project oversight, and business development in key regions. He/she will be tasked with ensuring ROCKBlue’s development is dynamic, diverse, and engaging.
Authority
The ROCKBlue Technical Deputy Director works with ROCKBlue’s operations and business development team at times as a coordinator and as a contributing member of the team.
The Technical Deputy Director will have creative user access to ROCKBlue’s archives, marketing materials, Google Drive, and internal / external contact lists.
Purpose
The Technical Deputy Director is the primary manager of ROCKBlue’s internal operations - supporting human resources, operations, finance, business development, and project management departments.
The Technical Deputy Director works with and is accountable to the Managing Director of ROCKBlue Consultancy.
The Technical Deputy Director will perform tasks associated with operations and business management.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Technical Deputy Director will:
Support the MD, operations, and business development team in developing effective operations and project management procedures.
Work to identify areas of improvement and suggest methods to improve those areas
Manage active projects and internal operations.
Risk Management
The Technical Deputy Director is:
Responsible for conducting business in accordance with ROCKBlue’s standards.
Responsible for developing effective operations and project management procedures
Reporting to the MD on updates, changes, and any potential issues.
Internal Systems
The Technical Deputy Director will operate and manage ROCKBlue’s databases, records, and other materials professionally and appropriately to protect the integrity of the database according to ROCKBlue’s values.
Other Responsibilities
Represent ROCKBlue in regular meetings with other staff and potential partners.
Fill in for the Managing Director in regular internal meetings.
Assist in the development of contacts and partners to aid in expanding ROCKBlue’s visibility and reach.
Requirements and Qualifications
English proficiency (written and spoken) and good communication skills.
Exceptional problem-solving capabilities.
Adequate IT skills related to Office Suite, Google, Adobe, Powerpoint, and other editing and imaging software.

Possess strong management skills
Teamwork to effectively interact with team members
Strong business development sense, goal-oriented and a good communicator
Time Commitment
Ability to dedicate 10-20 hours per week, virtually.
