Art-in-the-Park Host

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

Spend your summer sharing the gift of art with visitors and supporting your public lands by volunteering as an Art-in-the-Park Host on the Boston Harbor Islands!

As an Art-in-the-Park host, volunteers will be responsible for facilitating several different art activities on Spectacle and Georges islands throughout the season with the goal of engaging the public in the islands and harbor in a unique and creative way.

Volunteers will be asked to commit to at least one four-hour shift every other week (or every week if preferred) at least six times over the course of the season . Shifts will be offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Saturdays. Most shifts will be available between June 16th and September 1st with additional shifts on the shoulder seasons from May 24th to June 16th and September 1st to October 13th. On-island trainings will be offered for new volunteers, the first of which will be on May 24th.

No experience necessary. Materials and trainings for all of the activities will be provided. All you need to bring is your creativity, snacks, and a friendly attitude!

There are no food vendors on the islands, so be sure to plan accordingly.

Please feel free to email madilynn_nolen@partner.nps.gov with any questions or concerns.

We're excited to have you join us on the islands this summer!
