Description
In 1977 local artists in Leesburg, Florida started the Leesburg Art Festival. Originally held in Venetian Park, the Festival moved downtown several years later.
In 2000 some of the same art enthusiasts, community members, organizations, and city officials identified that Leesburg needed a bricks/mortar cultural/arts component to improve the quality of life in Leesburg and Lake County. The Leesburg Center for the Arts was born.
Recently renamed The Leesburg Arts Center, the Center represents a no judgement zone for art discovery, exploration, and experimentation, that helps our community cultivate a friendly environment for artists and creative people of all ages living or visiting in the Leesburg and the Lake County, Florida area.
