Visitation Supervisor

ORGANIZATION: FAMILY CONNECTION CENTER

This role will require the supervisor to oversee the parent-child interactions at family visitations and take observations notes of the interactions. Visits generally last 2 hours and supervisors will be scheduled on the same day each week, with the same family. Scheduling can vary based on the supervisors availability. A typical commitment would be 1 day per week for 2 hours. However, some volunteers do every other week or fill in as needed. The vsiit times can vary as well depending on the supervisors ava. This role does not require any education or experience.

What does a visit consist of?

Families will play indoors or outdoors, eat a meal or snacks together, watch TV, they may do a creaft or play a board game. Supervisors will document this and may engage with the family through the visit.

Description

Family Connection Center is a nonprofit organization in Springfield, Missouri. FCC provides a space and supervision for family visitation for families in the foster care system working toward reunification. FCC offers wrap-around services and works to connect the families we serve to local resources to overcome the barriers that led them into the foster care system and avoid reentry into care. FCC serves families who have entered care due to poverty related circumstances and addiction. We do not accept cases involving child abuse.
