**Job Summary**

Womenful Voice is seeking a Volunteer Accountant to assist the Finance Manager in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting donor reporting, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. This remote volunteer role is ideal for someone passionate about nonprofit work and skilled in accounting processes, particularly with donor-funded projects. The Volunteer Accountant will contribute to strengthening our financial management systems and promoting transparency and accountability.

**Key Responsibilities**

- **Transaction Processing**: Record and reconcile all financial transactions, including donations, grants, vendor payments, and other expenditures using QuickBooks Online.

- **Expense Management**: Verify and process expense claims, vendor invoices, and other payments, ensuring alignment with approved budgets and donor requirements.

- **Revenue Recording**: Track and record incoming revenue streams accurately, maintaining proper documentation for donations, grants, and other sources.

- **Financial Record Keeping**: Maintain orderly and secure digital financial files and accounting records.

- **Budget Support**: Assist the Finance Manager in monitoring expenditures against budgets.

- **Bank Reconciliations**: Perform monthly bank reconciliations.

- **Audit Support**: Help prepare documentation for internal and external audits as needed.

- **Financial Reporting**: Assist in the preparation of donor reports, grant financial reports, and internal financial summaries.

- **Compliance**: Ensure all activities comply with USA accounting standards for nonprofits, donor regulations, and organizational policies.

**Requirements**

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- At least 4 years of accounting experience, particularly with donor-funded projects.

- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online is required.

- Strong knowledge of USA accounting policies and nonprofit financial regulations.

- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Prior experience working in a nonprofit is an advantage.

**Commitment**

- Volunteer, remote-based role.

- Estimated commitment: 5-7 hours per week (flexible based on project needs).
