Rock n’ Roll Camp for Girls San Diego is looking for volunteers for its 10th year of music empowerment camp! GXRLS ROCK! San Diego Summer Camp is set for June 9-14, 2025. Learn more about our organization at our website: https://www.rockcampforgirlssd.org

There are 2 volunteer opportunities!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY #1 - ROADIES

Roadies: Help move and set up music gear and materials.

Dates: June 7, 13 & 14 2025 Shift times vary.

Can be under 18yrs old if accompanied by or with the consent of their parent/guardian.

This is a great way to help out and/or earn your high school service hours.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY #2 - CAMP SUPPORT

Camp Support: Help with daily activities, setup workshops, food crew, clean up and camper supervision. Female identified, non- binary preferred.

Dates: June 9-13, 2025 Camp hours: 8:30am-4pm. Shift times vary.

***Must be able to attend Camp Orientation Sunday, June 8th: 2pm-4pm***

Volunteer requirements: You must be at least 18 yrs. + willing to complete a background check. We pay for your background check.

Camp location: Montgomery Middle School in Linda Vista - 2470 Ulric St., San Diego, CA 92111

MORE INFO ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION:

GXRLS ROCK! provides a supportive, inclusive space for girls and non-binary youth to discover their voices, make friends, and gain life-changing confidence. Throughout the week, campers ages 8-17 learn an instrument, form a band, attend workshops, and write and perform an original song. Many have never played an instrument prior to camp. Instruments are provided, and energetic staff members, many of whom are local San Diego artists, help students learn the basics of songwriting and music theory. Campers will perform their showcase on Saturday 6/14 at the Music Box- 1337 India St., San Diego, CA.

Lori R., who was an original camper in 2015, is a powerful example of the camp’s lasting impact. She now returns as a staff member, inspiring the next generation of campers. Lori says that, "Rock Camp is my comfort space. It has saved my life in so many ways and has provided me with opportunities that have made me into the woman I am today. Becoming a mentor allows me to mentor the way I was mentored, and give the kids a safe space the way I was given a safe space. Every year, I look forward to being around so much overwhelming love, empowerment, intelligence, and support."
