Infant loss Resources and KC Running have teamed up for the last 4 years. Infant Loss Resources is the beneficiary of the donations raised from the run entry fees and general giving. The Diva Dash on July 20, 2025 aligns well with our organization since the majority of runners are women and the fun run is for kids.

Some of the volunteer options are: 1. hand out waters to runners, 2. encoourage runners on the course 3. hand out metals to adult and kid runners at the finish line 4. assist at the ILR booth

Mission Statement

The mission of Infant Loss Resources, Inc. is to promote safe practices which reduce the risk of infant death and to provide grief support for families who have lost babies.

Description

Infant loss is not an easy thing to discuss or talk about for the mothers, families and fathers...but there is a high percentage of infants loss up to 1 year of age because of birth defects, never developing prior to delivery, SIDS, accidents in the home or just neglect. We assist families with counseling sessions while expecting, pak n' plays for the infant to have a safe sleeping space, and therapy and resources after an infant loss. It is never something anyone gets through, at any age that you lose, but we try to be there for them as they maneuver the following days or years with that void.

  • This is a Done in a Day opportunity and there is no prior training or ongoing commitment needed.
  • Must be at least 12
  • from the check in time at 6:15am to closing down approx 10:45
  • We don't mind if kids over 12 want to volunteer with a parent,but have to ensure that the adolescent will be with the parent at all times.
