ORGANIZATION: The Nature Conservancy in Arizona

The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is looking for volunteers to join a team that will identify and document where, when, and why wildlife crosses or uses Highway 82; to use acquired data to determine if there are hotspots for wildlife crossings and vehicle collisions; and to gain science-driven insights that can inform wildlife conservation, land managers, and transportation authority’s management and mitigation strategies.

Study Area

Surveys will be conducted along Highway 82 and the adjacent right-of-way from the intersection of SR82 and SR83 (Sonoita Crossroads) to the Nogales Airport, a 23.3 mile stretch of road.
