Longmont Friends of Feral & Abandoned Cats

Longmont Friends of Feral & Abandoned Cats, a nonprofit organization, is recruiting new members for its Board of Directors. We are looking for passionate, diverse, and enthusiastic candidates to grow our board. LFFAC will provide an excellent opportunity to use your skills while you open your heart to feral, community cats and kittens in need. You will also provide key support to the team of volunteers that make LFFAC a success for people and cats they care for!

ABOUT OUR BOARD

Directors are involved in LFFAC’s operations, using their skills and experience to advance LFFAC’s mission. Board members raise money and generate awareness about LFFAC in Longmont and the surrounding area.

Directors serve two-year terms. This is a non-compensatory, volunteer board role. Directors do NOT need to be residents of Longmont.

DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES

· Attend monthly Board of Directors meetings, which are conducted both in-person and occasionally via Zoom.

· Attend LFFAC’s annual fundraising celebration, Purrs & Paws.

· Attend at least one community event each year to build connections with the community and LFFAC’s volunteer base.

· Generate awareness and opportunities for LFFAC by facilitating introductions to potential partners, sourcing donations and sponsorships, supporting public-facing campaigns and initiatives, and more.

DIRECTOR REQUIREMENTS

· You are passionate about LFFAC’s mission to improve the lives of feral, community cats, and the people who care for them.

· You are willing and eager to leverage your connections, networks, and resources to advance LFFAC’s mission and impact.

· You will work diligently to help LFFAC raise funds.

· You have strong interpersonal skills and will build meaningful relationships with other Directors and volunteers.

Preferred Qualifications:

· You have prior experience on another nonprofit board or fundraising committee.

· You have skills/experience in one or more of the following areas: Accounting, Advocacy/Public Policy, Animal Rescue, Event Planning, Financial Planning, Fundraising/Development, Grant Writing, Information Technology, Legal Services, Marketing, Nonprofit Operations, or Public Relations.

To improve the lives of community cats and the people who care for them in Longmont and the surrounding area through our comprehensive programs: TNR, Colony Management, Cat Socialization, Foster, Adoption, and Education.

Description

Longmont Friends of Feral & Abandoned Cats provides TNR (trap, neuter, and return) and medical care when needed for feral cat colonies in Longmont and the surrounding area. Our shelter is used to socialize under-socialized cats and kittens that are displaced, need to be removed from a colony, transferred to us from other shelters, or relinquished to us from the public. After socialization is complete, cats are adopted to the public.
