Mission Statement

Safetyville USA, a division of Safety Center Inc., is a leading non-profit organization with a broad mission to provide safety education across a wide range of topics. Safetyville USA is committed to teaching children and families the critical skills needed to navigate and reduce risks in daily life, whether related to traffic safety, fire prevention, home safety, pedestrian safety, bicycle safety, or general injury prevention. We accomplish this through interactive, hands-on learning experiences that have reached tens of thousands of individuals.

Description

Safetyville USA is a unique 1/3 scale city, complete with sidewalks, crosswalks, stoplights and signs, police and fire stations, a dentist office, grocery store - and much more, that provides an immersive learning environment, allowing children to practice everyday safety skills, and helping to lay the groundwork for lifelong safety & health.

Field Trips- A trained volunteer docent leads children, preschool through second grade, through town teaching them a variety of safety skills, including: fire, bicycle, pedestrian, railroad safety, emergency preparedness and how to assess risk. From its inception in 1984, over 125,000 children have benefited from this experience. Approximately 10,000 children tour Safetyville USA each year. The children touring Safetyville USA are from all social and economic levels and come from all over Northern California.

Special Events- Multiple special events are held each year focused on fun and safety. Bike Rodeos, Bike Nights, Free Helmet events, Trick or Treat Safetyville and the holiday Winterglow.

Party Rentals- Safetyville offers a unique setting for events. Guests can explore the many roads and buildings within town. Bike, scooter, or powerwheel around town with friends. The Capitol and "Old town patio," are available for private parties, or the entire town can be rented for private events.
