Do you have skills in cosmetology and a heart for service? Baylor Scott & White Hospice is seeking compassionate volunteers who can offer haircuts and basic grooming services to patients who are homebound or in hospice care settings.
These individuals are often unable to leave their homes, yet a simple haircut or gentle grooming can bring them comfort, dignity, and a renewed sense of self. As a volunteer, you’ll not only practice and share your professional skills, but you’ll also bring warmth and human connection to those who need it most.
This is a unique way to give back to your community, one caring gesture at a time.
Volunteers must be licensed (or in training) cosmetologists or barbers.
Volunteer hours can often count toward school or certification requirements. Flexible scheduling available.

Description
Hospice is a concept of care for those living with a terminal illness. Hospice allows patients to receive care in the comfort of their home surrounded by family and friends.
Volunteers may choose to visit a patient, offering companionship , read to the patient, help with errands for the patient/caregiver, sitting to provide respite for the caregiver. No experience required, just need to have the heart to help people in their final journey.
