ORGANIZATION: NorthStar Home Hospice

NorthStar Home Hospice is looking for compassionate people to join our volunteer team to make friendly visits to our patients living in their homes or assisted living facilities throughout Greater Cincinnati, including the Mason, Loveland, Newtown and Kenwood/Silverton/Blue Ash areas. Being a hospice volunteer is profoundly rewarding and there is no medical or personal care involved.

Some of the ways YOU can make a difference when visiting patients:

  • Providing companionship
  • Reading aloud to the patient or listening to music together
  • Looking at photos together and sharing memories (life review)
  • Sitting with a patient so caregivers have free time (respite)
  • Journaling or scrapbooking (helping the patient record their history)
  • Watching movies or playing games
  • Simply being present

Volunteers are an integral part of our hospice team! We provide ongoing support, comprehensive orientation/training, and screenings at no cost to you. Once you complete your orientation and screenings, we will strive to assign you close to your home or work, and based on your schedule and available.

Become part of something special and make a difference in the lives of local hospice patients when they need it most!
