We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to assist with the operations of our native plant nursery. This exciting opportunity involves hands-on experience in growing, maintaining, and nurturing a diverse array of native plants essential for local ecosystems. No prior experience is necessary to participate; our staff will provide training and guidance on all aspects of the position as well as personal protective equipment and necessary tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plant Care: Assist in the propagation and cultivation of native plants, including seeding, potting, and watering to ensure healthy growth.
- Weed Management: Regularly monitor and remove weeds from nursery beds and potted plants to maintain a clean and healthy growing environment.
- Nursery Upkeep: Help maintain overall nursery organization and cleanliness by performing tasks such as cleaning tools, organizing plant inventory, and assisting with general maintenance.
- Habitat Restoration Support: Participate in nursery events that support habitat restoration efforts, including plant sales and community outreach programs.
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside NPS staff and other volunteers to foster a positive and productive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Passion for environmental conservation and native plant restoration.
- Willingness to learn about native plant species and their ecological importance.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.

Training sessions are planned for every Thursday from 3:00pm - 5:00pm AST starting June 12th. Volunteers DO NOT need to attend every session to participate in the Native Plant Nursery Corps!
