ORGANIZATION: Roze Room Hospice South Bay Office

Hospice Patient/Family Volunteers:

Do you have a caring heart, and are looking to make a difference in the lives of terminally ill patients and their families? If so, please join us!

Patient/Family Volunteers work directly with the patients and families, providing friendly visits, companionship and support. Examples of services provided by our Patient/Family Volunteers include: companionship, active listening, reminiscing, caregiver support, reading to the patient, listening to music together, holding space, playing an instrument, light housekeeping, and playing cards or games with the patient. The visit schedule is flexible and depends upon volunteer and patient availability. Patient/Family Volunteers are asked to volunteer 4-16 hours per month with regular visits. You too can make a difference with just your presence, and a smile with this rewarding opportunity. No experience necessary, training will be provided.

Description

Our Roze Room Hospice Volunteers/Interns offer soul support and compassionate companionship to patients and families at the most vulnerable time in our patients’ lives. As the founder of Roze Room Hospice, I am honored to celebrate our third decade in the industry and to be surrounded by dedicated and caring professionals.

Roze Room Hospice was formed to honor the memory of my grandmother Roza, whose favorite flower was the rose. Integrating her name and her favorite flower into our organizational name reminds me of our daily purpose and mission. Therefore, all we do at Roze Room Hospice is geared toward the patient and family. Our goal is to provide the best care possible to our patients and treat each patient with love, compassion and dignity. Our volunteers are an integral part of our organization, and we look forward to you joining our family.
