Garden Volunteers

The Visitor Center serves as a welcome center, exhibit space, and gift shop. Garden volunteers will help take care of four garden beds and four planters at the Visitor Center, including alongside Declaration Park. Volunteers should have a good knowledge of plants and gardening procedures. They will use a variety of hand tools associated with gardening work and will work with National Park Service staff, other volunteers, or independently.
Tasks may include:
- Weeding flower and ground cover beds.
- Assisting with pruning, fertilizing, planting, and seeding.
- Watering landscaped beds and planters to ensure proper growth.
- Bending, stretching, kneeling, standing, lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Performing outdoor duties in temperatures ranging from 60-85 degrees.
Prior knowledge of plants and gardening techniques is preferred.
