Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable children and families in your community? Do you believe every child deserves to feel safe, seen, and supported-especially those in foster care?

Foster Village Maryland - Capital Region is seeking committed and compassionate individuals to join our Board of Directors and help lead the way in transforming the foster care experience for children, caregivers, and families in our region.

As a board member, you'll play a vital role in shaping our mission, expanding our impact, and ensuring long-term sustainability. We're looking for leaders who bring a heart for advocacy and a mind for strategy-especially those with experience in any of the following:

* Foster care, adoption, or child welfare
* Fundraising or grant writing
* Legal, marketing, or nonprofit governance
* Community outreach or lived experience in the system

Foster Village Maryland - Capital Region is more than a nonprofit-we’re a movement. We connect foster families with critical resources, rally community support, and stand in the gap for children navigating the foster care system. When the village shows up, families thrive-and kids have a chance to heal.

Time Commitment:

* Board meetings (quarterly or bi-monthly)
* Committee involvement and occasional events
* 4-6 hours per month, on average

What You Bring:

* A passion for child welfare and equitable family support
* Willingness to be an ambassador and advocate
* A collaborative spirit and commitment to making a difference

Location: Remote with some in-person meetings/events in the Capital Region (DC, Maryland suburbs)
