Be the hero behind the wheel!
Love animals and hitting the road? As an Animal Transport Volunteer, you’ll be the vital link between our shelter and the next big step in an animal’s journey - whether that’s heading to a vet appointment, a spay/neuter surgery, or being transferred to a rescue partner for a second chance.
You might be chauffeuring a kitten to a check-up, delivering a pup to a rescue partner, or picking up a whole carload of cuteness. If you're calm, confident with animals, and enjoy a good playlist, this could be your perfect volunteer gig.
What you’ll do:
Safely transport cats, dogs, and other animals to and from the shelter
Use our shelter van (if approved under our insurance) or your own car
Be gentle, patient, and totally cool under pressure - even when someone meows the entire trip
Keep crates and vehicles clean and comfy for your furry passengers
Communicate with staff
You’re a great fit if you:
Have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Are 21+ if you plan to drive the shelter van
Can lift around 40 lbs (with help if needed)
Are ready to attend a quick training session and shelter orientation
Can roll with flexible timing - many transports are weekdays, weekends, or on-call
Bonus points if you have a large vehicle like an SUV or van - we especially need your help for transporting multiple animals or large dogs!
Why it matters:
You’re not just giving animals a ride - you’re giving them a lifeline. Transport is a crucial part of our rescue operations, and your time behind the wheel could mean the difference between waiting and going home.
