SoulPhamm is looking for a committed Virtual coach to work with its 2025-2026 team over its summer hiatus. You can have expertise in EITHER hip-hop dance or HBCU style majorette dance.
The SoulDeevas are SoulPhamm's Hip-Hop Majorette Dance team and it includes ladies ages 12-21. We are ending our 2025 season with 12 girls and are holding tryouts for the 2026 team on June 21st.
The dance coach will be responsible for keeping the girls sharp in terms of drills (to reduce summer learning loss) and will teach them new dance routines and stands. We have an online group through the BAND app where videos and announcements can be posted.
The coach can set an evening virtual time (with a preference for Thursdays or Fridays any time from 5pm EST onward) and can select a 60-90 minute practice slot (longer if deemed necessary). Practice would then start in July and run through August. If the Coach would like to remain with the team past the summer, they are welcome to return to work with the team through the school year, when in-person practices begin. Coaches would then join the virtual sessions to reinforce during Saturday practices.
Interested candidates would be asked to: (a) meet with the Director via Zoom; (b) submit an application; (c) select a practice time. High School Seniors who can use the experience for community service hours are welcomed to apply. Please specify your expertise (hip-hop dance or majorette) when you reach out. You will be asked to demonstrate a routine so that we can ensure the styles are a fit for the team.

Our vision is to promote virtue, equity, unity, justice, faith, charity and a sense of common purpose and brotherhood among all people with an emphasis on the development and advancement of young people through education, athletics, service and the arts.
SoulPhamm was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in the state of New Jersey on June 25, 2021 and is the "birth-child" of Coach Luis ("Lou") and Dr. Leisa Herrera ("Mz. Doc"). The organization exists to provide training to young people in a variety of sports and performing arts and unique opportunities to display those talents through competition and performance. By integrating mentoring, life skills, opportunities for community service and academic enrichment to the athletic/artistic program, we help make our scholar-athletes as well-rounded as possible, capable of meeting and overcoming any challenges they are faced with. Although Coach Lou passed away suddenly in January 2021, the official launch of SoulPhamm was held on June 26, 2021, which coincided with his birthday weekend. SoulPhamm will recognize its own founding, as well as the achievements of our young people every year on the fourth Saturday of June, as a tribute to the life and legacy of Coach Lou.
