About Us:
Empower Holding Group is a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting adults with intellectual disabilities , mental and behavioral health needs to achieve a level of independence through Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS). We are in an exciting startup phase and seeking a knowledgeable and reliable Volunteer Financial Consultant to support our financial infrastructure and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide guidance on GAAP and nonprofit financial best practices

• Set up or advise on accounting systems and internal controls

• Prepare financial documentation and reporting (e.g., Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Activities, Form 990 , etc. )

• Support budget creation and grant reporting processes

• Advise on investment and tax liability reduction strategies

Required Qualifications :

• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and reside in the continental U.S.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting financial standards

• Ability to work independently, communicate clearly and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced experience with financial planning and analysis

• Experience supporting start-up and/or nonprofit organizations

• Familiarity with H ealth and H uman S ervices and Home and Community Based Services

• CPA designation (active or inactive)
