Breast cancer screening is important because it leads to early detection and early treatment. Early detection can significantly improve a woman's chances of survival. Unfortunately, access to breast cancer screening is not universal. Touch4Life is committed to increasing screening access.
This assignment will help identify potential screening partners for upcoming health fair/health events.
What will volunteers do?Volunteers will call mobile breast scanning and mammography companies, complete a questionnaire with the appropriate contact person and find out the companies' availability to be at a health fair (dates to be determined and mutually agreeable).

Mission Statement
Touch4Life's mission is to increase the breast health IQ of BIPOC and underserved communities and eliminate disparities in breast cancer outcomes. Our vision is a world where no woman is surprised by breast cancer so late that her options are limited.
Description
Touch4Life, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission of increasing the breast health IQ of Black, Indigenous, and other Women of Color (BIWOC) and underserved communities and eliminating breast health outcomes disparities. Our B-FRESH program is dedicated to delivering nutrition and health education, along with culturally appropriate recipes and fresh produce, to Black metastatic breast cancer patients in the DC, MD metropolitan area.
We believe first-time, late-stage breast cancer diagnosis is preventable. There is clear evidence that women of color need different preventative measures. For our Founder and President Laura Crandon, she needed to be referred to additional screening after a dense breast mammogram, but she wasn’t. So, an aggressive form of cancer had 5 months to grow before she discovered a lump during a self-exam in the shower. Even after neoadjuvant chemo. The tumor was stage 2b.
Our vision is a world where no woman is surprised by breast cancer so late that her options are limited.
