Construction Site Host
ORGANIZATION: Treasure Valley Habitat for Humanity
Please visit the new page to apply.
The Site Host is on the construction site with the express purpose of making sure all of our volunteers have the best experience possible.
They work directly with the construction leaders to help split up volunteers into work crews and make sure safety issues are covered with volunteers. Site Hosts are there to greet volunteers, verify that they sign in and out, make sure that everyone is being utilized, and that everyone has an experience that will keep them coming back. They also help set up lunch, know where the first aid kit is, fill out appropriate paperwork, and provide information about other possible volunteer opportunities to the construction volunteers.
The work day typically runs from 8am to 5pm on Saturdays. Possibility of week days in the future. Site Hosts can volunteer as often as they like.

Mission Statement
Treasure Valley Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and our community to provide decent affordable homes and to promote responsible home ownership for people in need. We seek to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat for Humanity invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need.
Description
Boise Valley Habitat for Humanity was formed in 1990 as an affiliate of this international effort through Habitat for Humanity International.
Treasure Valley Habitat for Humanity has become a part of the solution of eradicating poverty housing by building simple, decent, affordable homes in partnership with families in need. Since its beginning, our local affiliate has helped 43 families build new homes, providing the opportunity for hundreds of local volunteers to help build a better community. We do not build homes for people in need, but WITH people in need - as partners. In addition to building homes and creating strong communities through home ownership, TVHFH also has a Critical Repairs Program to assist home owners with varying degrees of home repairs to keep people in their homes long term. We place high value on Aging in Place so homeowners can stay in their homes longer, enabling families the autonomy, safety, and comfort they deserve in addition to maintaining ownership of the home for the next generations!
