The McHenry County Historical Society and Museum in Union has Visitor Services Desk Attendant Opportunities! Tues - Fri shifts are available. Volunteers can pick which days to work. This position is perfect for college students or retired people. Volunteers do not need to work all of these days. Dress is business casual.
The primary duties for this position are to greet visitors and take admission. Those interested can work all or any days, Tuesday-Friday between the hours of 9-4 p.m. All shifts available.
When visitor traffic is slow, volunteers can read, do homework, or work on museum projects.

Description
Established in 1963, our members, staff, and volunteers have a 60-year-plus record rich in preservation, education, and entertainment contributions to McHenry County.
We create learning experiences and events. We focus on local culture, organization, and family history. We collect and care for notable artifacts. We participate in the activities of like-minded organizations throughout McHenry County.
Besides operating the museum, the Society plaques historic sites and structures, holds adult programs and arranges various school and adult group tours.
