ViaQuest Hospice provides compassionate end-of-life care that honors the dignity, comfort, and wishes of each patient and their family. Volunteers are a vital part of our care team, offering presence, support, and comfort during one of life’s most meaningful journeys.
Position Summary:
As a ViaQuest Hospice Volunteer, you’ll provide non-medical support to patients and their families. No clinical experience is needed-just a kind heart and a willingness to help. We’ll provide the training and support you need to make a difference.
Volunteer Roles May Include:
Offering companionship and emotional support to patients
Reading aloud, playing music, or sharing conversation
Providing respite for family caregivers
Assisting with light errands or administrative tasks
Supporting special projects and events
What We’re Looking For:
A compassionate, reliable individual with good listening skills
18 years or older
Ability to pass a background check and complete required training
Respectful of all backgrounds, beliefs, and identities
Comfortable with the hospice philosophy and being present with those at end-of-life

Description
ViaQuest volunteers are the heart of our hospice services. They are dedicated and caring people from our community who have the ability to listen sensitively and an awareness of personal boundaries. Our volunteers undergo a comprehensive training program with an emphasis on compassion and caring with the goal of providing the best assistance to our patients and their caregivers. There is a wide range of opportunities, including assisting patients and their families, providing information, and being a source of encouragement at any point for those who need it.
