Role Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Volunteer Nonprofit Grant Writer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and writing grant proposals, researching grant opportunities, and supporting our nonprofit’s fundraising efforts to help sustain and expand our programs. While previous experience with grant identification and budgeting is a plus, our primary focus is on strong writing skills and the ability to develop compelling grant applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify potential grant opportunities that align with our nonprofit’s mission and objectives.
  • Prepare, draft, and submit well-organized and persuasive grant applications, ensuring they meet all guidelines and requirements.
  • Collaborate with program and development teams to gather relevant information and insights for strong applications.
  • Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines, application submissions, and reporting requirements.
  • Assist in tracking grant statuses, documenting outcomes, and reporting on funding progress to internal stakeholders.
  • Optional (Preferred): Support budgeting aspects for grant proposals to align with funder requirements.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in grant writing or nonprofit fundraising; experience with identifying grants and budgeting is a plus.
  • Strong research, writing, and editing skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate our organization’s mission and impact clearly to potential funders.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit funding sources, databases, and relevant tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Workspace).
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Commitment to our nonprofit’s mission and a desire to make a positive impact.
  • Comfortable working remotely and collaborating with a virtual team.
