Job Description: Virtual Volunteer - Community Outreach & Partnerships
Organization: Youth Action Services, Inc.
Program: Summer Pilot Program
Mission: Youth Action Services, Inc. aims to empower and embrace children within the NYC Municipal Shelter System through a six-week summer pilot program addressing gaps in social, emotional, economic, and educational needs through academic support, skill-building, enrichment, and recreational activities.
Vision: Youth Action Services, Inc. is dedicated to providing a comprehensive summer pilot program to homeless youth in NYC.
Position Overview:
The Virtual Volunteer - Community Outreach & Partnerships will play a vital role in expanding Youth Action Services' reach and impact by developing relationships with external organizations and the community. This role is ideal for individuals with strong communication skills and a passion for connecting resources with those in need. The volunteer will work remotely to identify and cultivate partnerships that support the Summer Pilot Program's goals.
Responsibilities:
Partnership Development:
Research and identify potential partner organizations, including non-profits, community centers, educational institutions, and businesses, that align with Youth Action Services' mission.
Initiate contact with potential partners to introduce the Summer Pilot Program and explore collaboration opportunities.
Develop and maintain a database of contacts and track communication with potential partners.
Community Outreach:
Identify opportunities for community engagement and outreach to raise awareness about the program.
Assist in creating outreach materials, such as online content, presentations, or informational documents.
Explore opportunities to promote the program through social media, online platforms, or community calendars.
Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Ability to conduct online research and identify relevant resources.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace.
Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently.
Passion for the mission and vision of Youth Action Services.
Time Commitment:
2-6 hours per week.
Flexible schedule, to be determined in coordination with program needs.
Bi-weekly virtual check-ins with the Co-founder and Founder to provide updates and receive guidance.

Youth Action Services, Inc is a new 501c3 organization. Understanding Brooklyn, NY serves some of the cities poorest neighborhoods which includes high number of homelessness. I am pleased to introduce this new organization as it is the mission, duty, and purpose of You Action Services, Inc to address, educate, coordinate and provide tools to children who have been impacted by losing their home. The services we plan to provide include After-School program; mentoring program; summer day camp; and therapeutic services. We are connecting with professionals to help fulfill our mission and also taking necessary steps to become an outpatient clinic under article 31.
