VOLUNTEER CENTER - SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN Lighthouse Guild is the leading not-for-profit healthcare organization dedicated to addressing
and preventing vision loss. Our mission is to provide exceptional services that inspire people
who are visually impaired to attain their goals. With Lighthouse Guild, people who are at risk
for, or affected by, vision loss have access to all the resources necessary to lead full, independent,
and productive lives. We provide services, research and education, and advocate to help people with
low vision and blindness. Our vision is a world in which no person is limited by their visual capacity. The Stephen T. Pearlman Volunteer Center administers the volunteer recruitment, screening and interviewing,
orientation, training and education, placement and referral, retention, and recognition processes for Lighthouse Guild.
Our current corps of volunteers consists of 600 volunteers who contribute to the success of the organization and carry
on the legacy of service of the organization’s founders.

Volunteer Opportunity: Lighthouse Guild is looking for a motivated, passionate, and forward-thinking intern to work with our volunteer team to help create content for various social media platforms and develop content that improves our online presence and helps the organization expand its audience reach.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
· Expand Lighthouse Guild’s web and social reach through development and execution of successful social media and marketing campaigns.
· Curate stories, experiences, and original content.
· Research, write, edit, photograph and film compelling marketing content for various channels, including website content, video scripts and social media platforms.
· Track, measure, and analyze performance of social content and marketing campaigns to optimize and strategize results to increase engagement. Provide monthly channel metrics, results/post-campaign evaluation, social media trends, and competitive activity.
· Assist in shooting and editing brand sensitive content showcasing Lighthouse Guild’s volunteer programs and services, volunteers in action along with testimonials from those impacted by the Lighthouse Guild.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
ü Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications or related field, or coursework leading to a degree in Marketing and Communications.
ü Social media maven with experience in community development across social networks (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google Plus, Periscope, etc.) Hootsuite knowledge a plus
ü Experience with Google Analytics
ü Outstanding written, communication and organizational skills
ü Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and/or video editing software
ü Creative, proactive self-starter
ü Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Details of the Opportunity: The ideal candidate is available during business hours 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. We are flexible with establishing your schedule during these hours and request your presence in the office at least 4 hours per day. Please submit a resume to volunteer@lighthouseguild.org .
