Help care for Rawhide’s horses and equine facilities, creating a safe and nurturing environment for youth to engage in equine-assisted activities. Your time and dedication support the well-being of our horses and the success of our programs.

Essential Responsibilities

• Horse Care - Assist with feeding, watering, and grooming

• Facility Maintenance - Clean stalls, paddocks, and equine areas

• Health Monitoring - Observe and report any concerns about horse behavior or well-being

• Session Preparation - Help prepare horses for equine-assisted activities

• Program Support - Assist staff with equine-related sessions

• Equipment Organization - Maintain and organize equine supplies

What You’ll Bring

• Prior experience with horses or equine care is a plus but not required

• Willingness to learn and follow equine care standards

• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual labor

• Minimum age: 18 years

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Team-oriented mindset and commitment to Rawhide’s mission

• Ability to pass a background check

Work Environment

• Outdoor work in barns, paddocks, and riding areas

• Exposure to various weather conditions (e.g., heat, cold, rain, wind)

• Physical demands include lifting, bending, and performing repetitive movements

• Potential for interaction with youth participants during equine programs

Time Commitment & Schedule: Volunteer shifts are available on an as-needed basis.
