We’re seeking a caring, creative volunteer to support a heartwarming project with a class of differently abled students-many of whom have physical mobility limitations-as they design and hand-deliver greeting cards to local nursing home residents.
About the Project
This thoughtful project is all about spreading kindness and building intergenerational connections. Students will design and deliver personalized greeting cards to residents at a nearby nursing home. The project culminates in a field trip for the card delivery, where students will share smiles and stories in person.
Throughout the experience, students will reflect on their impact and showcase their design work, collaboration process, and what they’ve learned about community connection.
How You’ll Support
Design Meaningful Cards - Guide students as they create thoughtful, visually expressive cards
Build Empathy & Connection - Help students understand and reflect on the importance of intergenerational relationships
Your Volunteer Role
We’re asking for your support in the following ways:
Chaperone the Nursing Home Field Trip on Wednesday, May 8
Join 2 In-Class Sessions to assist students with their card design and prep
Class meets: Mondays from 10:00-10:30 AM or Wednesdays from 9:30-10:00 AM
You can choose the day that works best for your schedule, and we’ll coordinate the visits based on your availability
