Join the Tecate Horse Rescue in honoring those who have adopted their rescue horses!
This reunion is for those who have adopted animals from the rescue as a thank you for their continued care. Tecate Horse Rescue will be providing games, including horse games and games with horses, food, an opportunity drawing, music, and more. Volunteers will be supporting the event in all areas to ensure it runs smoothly.
Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes
Attire: Closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothes you don't mind getting dirty. This opportunity takes place outdoors with little or no shade so volunteers should wear sun protection such as sunscreen and a hat.
Bring: Layers of clothing, water, and a hat
Physical Requirements: Volunteers should have the ability to comfortably communicate verbally, pick up 10 pounds, bend, stretch, and carry. Unfortunately, this opportunity is not able to make accommodations for individuals with physical limitations and the space where this project takes place is not wheelchair accessible.
Waiver: All volunteers are required to fill out this waiver.
Weather: Cancellations will occur in case of wind or rainstorms

The mission of Tecate Horse Rescue is to rescue, rehabilitate, and find forever homes for at-risk equines while also involving them in Equine Assisted Education and Equine Assisted Therapy. Mission Statement
We rescue at-risk horses, mules, donkeys and ponies through owner surrender, abandonment, kill pens and auction houses. We rescue, rehabilitate, and find forever homes for these equines while also involving them in Equine Assisted Education and Equine Assisted Therapy working with k through 12 children, first responders, veterans, disabled and others who benefit from these programs. Our active community membership also provides instruction and training including rescue rides, riding camps and classes and trail riding challenges to build better partnerships between new and veteran riders. We also have a hay subsidy program for those horse owners struggling on a short-term basis.
Description
Volunteers do not need horse experience. They will help with feeding, cleaning, providing water, grooming, facility maintenance, If they have horse experience they may help working with the horses. We also need volunteers to help with the 3 to 4 community events we hold each year.
