More about YWCA-Cradle and Rx Kids
YWCA Kalamazoo is leading the effort to curb infant mortality in Kalamazoo. The death of a baby before their first birthday is called infant mortality. The infant mortality rate is the number of infant deaths that occur for every 1,000 live births. Infant mortality affects all of us because we are all a part of this community.
Rx Kids is the nation’s first citywide parent and infant cash prescription program. Rx Kids aims to provide all pregnant people in participating cities with a no-strings-attached cash prescription, reducing financial burdens and empowering parents and guardians with the freedom to make decisions that best fit their families’ needs.

Description
YWCA Kalamazoo
YWCA Kalamazoo serves as a primary resource for economic, gender, and racial justice for all women and girls in Kalamazoo. We have been at the forefront of the most pressing social movements for more than 150 years- from voting rights to civil rights, from affordable housing to pay equity, from violence prevention to health care reform.
Today we combine programming and advocacy in order to generate institutional change in three key areas: racial justice, civil rights, empowerment and economic advancement of women and girls, and health and safety of women and girls
