ORGANIZATION: MEALS ON WHEELS OF MIDDLE GEORGIA INC

Volunteers are the hearts and hands of Meals on Wheels programs. Their caring, dedicated, and generous help is what makes our program so successful and helps more and more seniors every year maintain their independence in their home as long as possible.

As a volunteer you would have an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Meals on Wheels recipients. For someone who is alone, it can make the world of difference to be visited by a Meals on Wheels volunteer, someone who cares.

Each weekday volunteers deliver meals to the homes of 16 to 20 homebound elderly or disabled clients who can no longer prepare balanced meals for themselves.

What a blessing it is to serve! Orientation and training is provided. For more information or to join our team please contact us.

Description

Meals on Wheels is a nonprofit service agency which provides nutritious meals and other services to help older and disabled individuals maintain a dignified life. We believe it is critical to offer friendship, comfort and hope to those we serve.

Meals on Wheels of Middle Georgia, Inc., has proudly served the senior population in Bibb County since 1974. We work closely with the Area Agency on Aging to deliver services to the homebound elderly and disabled in Bibb and Jones counties. Our volunteers and staff are delivering more than good food; we are providing friendship, comfort, and hope. We believe that our elders and disabled neighbors retain a sense of independence and dignity when they are able to live in their own homes.
