How enthusiastic are you about supporting healthcare heroes?
This exciting volunteer opportunity involves handing out gift bags and shoes for Diversifying Doulas cohort training in Worcester, MA, at UMass Memorial.
Air Unity is a Unity Bands program designed to donate comfortable, clinically appropriate shoes to healthcare workers in need. This program stemmed from discussions with healthcare professionals about their requirements in 2024. For example, Unity Bands partners with the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center to donate shoes to cohorts going through a Certified Nursing Assistant program.
This has been a fantastic way to support our healthcare heroes and raise awareness about our mission.
We need in-person volunteers to welcome the doulas, briefly explain our mission, hand out gift bags, and provide survey results after the event.
Unity Bands Inc. is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization proudly supporting healthcare workers in need and providing credible public health information to at-risk communities.

Description
- 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
- The idea for Unity Bands, an all-volunteer, nonprofit project, manifested in March 2020 as stay-at-home orders were enacted across the country and around the world. In December 2020, Unity Bands Founder and President, John Schirrippa, worked with a Brazilian graphics designer to create the memorable, green Unity Bands logo representing the nonprofit’s ethos: hope, fight and unity.
- Thus far, Unity Bands has sold 2,000 wristbands to individuals and organizations in 13 states and three countries, and donated over $15,000 to five medical facilities across New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Alabama. We’ve partnered with multiple organizations and individuals to raise funds through the sale of wristbands, restaurant givebacks, raffles, and sports giveaways.
