Bridging Beyond is dedicated to reducing division and fostering empathy across diverse communities. Volunteers are the driving force behind our rapid growth and transformative impact.

With a focus on evidence-based interventions and thoughtful communication strategies, we’re looking for a Behavioural Insights and Nudge Expert to help shape how we design programmes, refine messaging, and encourage more inclusive attitudes among participants. This volunteer role not only involves implementing best practices but also leading and inspiring innovative thinking within Bridging Beyond.

In this role you may be called upon to do the following-

• Design Targeted Interventions - Apply nudge theory, behavioural economics, and social psychology to create interventions that encourage empathy, cooperation, and constructive dialogue.
  
  
• Refine Communications - Help craft messaging (e.g., promotional materials, workshop content) that resonates with diverse audiences and encourages open-minded, pro-social behaviour.
  
  
• Pilot and Evaluate Programs - Collaborate with teams to run small-scale trials, assess outcomes, and iterate on designs based on data and feedback.
  
  
• Knowledge Sharing - Provide guidance on behavioural insights to volunteers and staff, empowering others to use these principles in everyday tasks and decision-making.
  
  
• Shape Organisational Culture - Contribute to the evolution of Bridging Beyond’s internal practices, ensuring we maintain a consistent, empathetic approach across all activities.

Your volunteer experience will be flexible. We’ll work together to define specific responsibilities based on your expertise and our organisational priorities.

Personal Skills and Attributes-

• Behavioural Insights Expertise - Background in behavioural economics, social psychology, or related fields, with practical experience applying nudge theory and evidence-based interventions.
  
  
• Analytical & Creative - Able to design experiments, interpret data, and brainstorm creative ways to encourage empathy and reduce bias.
  
  
• Effective Communicator - Skilled at translating complex theories into accessible strategies, both for internal team use and public-facing materials.
  
  
• Collaborative & Adaptive - Open to working with individuals across different teams, adjusting priorities as Bridging Beyond’s needs evolve.
  
  
• Mission-Driven - Passionate about bridging social divides, with a strong desire to see real-world impact from your behavioural insights work.
