We are looking for passionate and dedicated volunteers to help lead and host our 23rd annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Great Lakes Bay.
What is Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (MSABC)?
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Great Lakes Bay is a 2 mile noncompetitive walk that takes place on October 18, 2025 at Saginaw Valley State University. In 2024, our event welcomed over 1,800 people and 120+ breast cancer survivors and thrivers to celebrate and honor those in our community who have been impacted by breast cancer. Participants are asked to create teams with their friends, family, or coworkers and help us raise life-saving funds for the American Cancer Society. 100% of net proceeds from this event are invested in breast cancer research and patient support programs.
Volunteers Needed:
- Day of Event Volunteer - Help volunteer the day of the event. Volunteers usually arrive between 6:30 - 8am and leave around noon depending on volunteer area and role. If your entire group (4+ people) would like to work a specific area, let us know.
- Walk Route Groups/Volunteers - Help us make our walk route fun! Groups can be placed along the walk route to cheer on our walkers and help make a fun atmosphere! Groups would need to be ready to go at 9:30am and would be on the route until 11am at the latest. Examples of past groups have been:
- Cheer / Dance Teams
- Youth Sport Teams
- Marching Bands
- Drum Lines
- Community Organizations
