Unity Hospice is looking for Administrative Volunteers (Bilingual/Spanish Speaking) to help support our patients and families behind-the-scenes! We are specifically looking for volunteers to help with Tuck-In calls, which is a role that occurs on WEDNESDAYS in our Chinatown office any time between 10:30am-5pm. Ideally this volunteer would be able to spend 2-3 hours in our office each Wednesday.

A tuck-in call volunteer will make weekly calls to families to make sure that they have the supplies and medications they need at home to care for their loved one, and provide emotional support for caregivers if needed. You are part of an essential team that makes sure families feel surrounded by care, and that all needs are being met by our team at all times. This volunteer must be comfortable talking on the phone, and willing to communicate needs to staff as part of our patient care team!

Hospice patients and their families are facing an often difficult end-of-life journey, and our office team is here to support them in whatever way we can! We love our volunteers and the assistance they provide in making sure our families feel cared for. We promise to treat you with the adoration you deserve and ply you with delicious snacks.

Because our volunteers are privy to patient information and spend time with our staff, we do require them to go through an onboarding process that includes fingerprinting, a tb test, a drug test (for drugs not legal in IL) and an orientation.
This role would take place would be at our office at 600 W Cermak in Chicago. We prefer volunteers who can commit for a minimum of 1 year, although we hope you'll become a long term member of the Unity family!
